Pressure washers operate at upwards of 2000PSI. They will cause cracks and broken tiles /shingles.

Water is pushed up into the roof causing leaks. Roofs are not built for high-pressure water moving horizontally.

It removes the seal that gives the tiles their color. In the case of asphalt (shingle) roofs, it removes the Asphalt.

Use cleaning methods that closely follow the unanimous recommendations of ARMA (Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association), the NRCA (National Roof Contractors Association), the RCIA (Roof Cleaning Institute of America) and the PRCA (Professional Roof Cleaning Association). Namely:

Treat your roof with a cleaning and disinfecting solution.

Moss and algae, and improper cleaning, can reduce the life span of your asphalt shingle roof by up to 40%. As the filler is eaten away, granules become loose, accelerating deterioration. Treating your roof in accordance with the tile manufacturer’s dictates, ensures that your roof doesn’t get damaged and stays clean for the longest possible amount of time.

Magma) can only be removed by killing it. Removing the algae, Gloeocapsa Magma, will restore your roof to its original color.
